About HPG Photographics

Howard Gutgesell is a retired pediatric cardiologist who has been involved in photography for over 40 years. He currently splits time between Charlottesville, Virginia (Spring and Fall) and Fraser, Colorado (Summer and Winter).  He has recently learned that he has been defined by two new terms:  in Colorado he is considered a “seasonal local” and in terms of photography he is a “prosumer” (between a pro and a consumer).  Many thanks to John Fielder in Colorado and Ben Greenberg in Charlottesville for guidance and inspiration.  This website was created as a means of displaying favorite photos, since his walls are pretty well covered with prints and no one sees pictures sitting on his computer.
